Stand Up Paddle SurfBoards

A Big Aloha and Welcome to Walk On Water Stand Up Surf!

From the State of surf & sunshine, the Hawaiians have been Stand Up Surfing for awhile…
Now it is sweeping New Zealand!

Stand Up Paddle Surfing is the fastest growing water sport since the wind surfer and it is evolving quickly.

Beach Boy Style or Stand Up Surfing goes back to earlier than the 60’s. Today with a growing number of surfers addicted to this hybrid sport, and with the advent of new SUP boards and lightweight paddles, we are seeing more Stand Up Paddle Surfers in the water with SUP competitions and SUP racing happening now throughout the World.

We introduced Stand Up Paddle Surfing to the Annual NZ Hyundai LongBoard Tour in 2007 and now they have a Stand Up Surf Competition and SUP Race event included in their line up of events, they have changed the name to the Hyundai Pro Tour for the 2012 season, there is the Takapuna State Beach Series in Auckland they have a SUP division a 3km race every Tuesday evening for total beginners to advanced racers, there is even a SUP Race across Lake Taupo, these being some of the SUP events happening in NZ today.

Also used as the ultimate cross-trainer, Stand Up Surf utilizes all of the muscle groups from your feet to your neck. An all round body work-out, it uses the core muscles to improve balance, strength and endurance. Stand Up Surfing offers the best training benefits of all the surfing/ water sports disciplines

StandUp Surfing is kool yet also very demanding. Hence our phrase: Hana’ia Makualike (done with balance) — both in the water with fellow surfers and on the board itself.

Experienced surfers find Stand Up Surfing enables them to get out into the surf faster and farther. They can stay out beyond the normal line-up and catch waves before anyone else.

Stand Up Surfing is a gas in 1–2 foot and up to 15–20 foot waves as shown in pictures shot in Bali on our recent trip down there (below) or flat water cruising our coastal waterways, coves, lakes and estuaries.

It’s an amazing sensation the incredible workout and where it takes you…You’re standing tall, gliding in the water and there is just something about that feeling. It’s why we love to surf, and with Stand Up Surfing you don’t even need waves.

Walk On Water (WOW) is proud to bring some of the finest most innovative Stand Up Surfboards, Paddles and Accessories all the way from Hawaii to our home in the Bay Of Plenty, Waihi Beach, New Zealand, Locally Owned & Operated…Home Grown.

REMEMBER: Look Up — Stay Up!
